Before that time a child accepts whatever happens to them and tries to make sense of the world from his or her own perspective.

When you were a child you created meanings from what happened to you.

If you were ignored you might have created the meaning that you weren’t important.

If you were constantly being punished you might have created the meaning that you could never do anything right, that you’re simply not good enough, not just in that moment, but always.

If you saw your parents working several jobs just to make ends meet, you may have created the meaning that making money is very hard.

And as a child you internalised those meanings and they have become your Truth.
